My Approach:

Using the latest in science, I work with your body to ignite your natural fat-burning cells, hormones and genes. You can lose weight and not go hungry by eating the right foods, which send weight-loss messages to your body. And there is no calorie counting — the old calories in /calories out model is outdated! My approach takes into account that hormones, gut health and genetics affect weight. With testing, we can determine your unique genetic needs. There is no one-size-fits-all. We also go nitty gritty practical. I get to know what your day looks like, where your obstacles are and provide simple ways to help you overcome them. We develop strategies so you can tackle social situations, emotional eating, pantry grazing and stressful life events. We talk portion sizes as well as the macronutrient combination that will synchronize the interplay of fat burning and metabolic hormones. Not only will you lose weight, but you’ll gain energy and look and feel years younger! And I am there to support and guide you all the way.

“My own attempts to make sense of the complexity of nutrition and weight loss began in college. As a teen I was used to eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. When I went to college, I continued this trend, which meant that eating 15 cookie bars at lunch was fine because it was “what I wanted.” Needless to say I put on the classic freshman 20, which was difficult to lose. I tried all sorts of diets — protein only, low fat, grapefruit and steak, raw foods only. I lost the weight while on the” program”, but put it on again as soon as I went off. I was a classic yo-yo’er.

That this happens to so many of us is mirrored by the thousands of diet books out there; with more published each year. Like me, so many of my clients have yo-yo’d from one to the next. How do we make sense of it all? As I studied the latest research and practiced nutrition, I discovered that the only way to keep the weight off — and live a longer and better life — is to manage how food affects my hormones and genes.   Now, my weight stays off, I eat delicious foods and I don’t think much about it! This isn’t to say that I don’t treat myself to fun or leisure foods, but I really don’t need to “watch it.” My body gets what it needs and stays balanced in weight and health.”
